Di Maria wants to join PSG – Pastore

A move away from Old Trafford has looked likely for some time after the Argentine endured a rough debut campaign under Louis van Gaal following his British record £59.7 million switch from Real Madrid last summer.

Di Maria said as recently as June that he wanted to stay at United, but it became apparent that he had his heart set on a move to the French capital in the last couple of weeks.

“Di Maria would make us stronger, for sure”, the PSG defender said after the club’s 2-0 win over United in Chicago on Thursday. “We will have to wait and see and I don’t want to interfere [in the discussions]”. He is a great friend, a great player, and every single team he plays in, he makes the difference. “It would be a pleasure to play with him again“.

Then asked where Di Maria actually was, the United manager added: “Maybe you know where he is”.

The former Benfica winger was left unsettled after an attempted burglary on his Cheshire home in February.

The 29-year-old striker tweeted his 11.6million followers after United’s pre-season tour of the US came to an end.

Van Gaal is hopeful United will retain the services of De Gea this season but acknowledged the rumors swirling around the star goalkeeper were not helpful to either the play or the club.

“Sometimes you don’t have luck, and you don’t adapt”.

At the moment I would say that this one should be a cracking encounter, both sides have an abundance of attacking talent and their defending is spotty to say the least. The first word I learned was “geezer”.

“I have to start with the formation and when the formation is doing well, I let them play in that formation”, Van Gaal said in a news conference.

For Di Maria, it’s disappointing things didn’t work out in the Premier League.
