Diana Ross Pregnant Rumors: Um, What???
The R&B icon unintentionally caused a stir on social media after photos of her seemingly with a baby bump popped up on the internet.
A photo of Diana Ross stepping out in Los Angeles on Tuesday seemed like an innocent paparazzi shot until The Shade Room posted the photo to their Instagram, shockingly sparking a ton of pregnancy rumors for the 71-year-old singer.
The Motown hitmaker was dressed all in black, wearing a cardigan over a t-shirt and leggings.
Despite Ross’ weight gain, the U.K.’s Daily Mail reported she was “easily recognizable”.
In case there were still doubts, no, singer Diana Ross is not with child. It’s absolutely “not true” that Ross is expecting, the site noted, adding that she has gained a few weight, and the unflattering photo exploits that.
In spite of the viral social media-originated pregnant rumor, Diana Ross is not pregnant. A rep for the star took care to shut down the rumor in a statement to Gossip Cop, the celebrity online publication that’s made it its mission to address this kind of rumors and set the record straight on them. Or just a bad angle for the photo?
Again, Ross is 71-years-old (though a woman from India named Rajo Devi Lohan conceived at the age of 70, according to reports.).
In March, ahead of the first series of gigs, the former Supreme told the Las Vegas Review-Journal: ‘We will all take a musical journey of love. Fans can see Ross live at the Venetian hotel and casino for nine shows in November.
She added: ‘I love to sing and perform and every show feels like a celebration. “Just like a brand new day or a brand new moment and it’s all about the music and those private and personal memories”.
The rumors began running as they do on Twitter after a photo surfaced of Ross sporting what could be interpreted as a baby bump.
