The 73rd Golden Globes aired on Sunday with wins for the usual suspects like Jon Hamm as well as for some Globes newcomers like Lady Gaga. The gif broke the internet and Leonardo’s reaction was all that everyone talked about. The Oscar victor hasn’t won a Golden Globe since 1998 for the “Good Will Hunting” screenplay. Some where amusing, while some where extremely witty.
The singer played coy in the Golden Globe Awards press room about when exactly fans can expect this new album to drop, telling reporters “You know, I am putting out an album this year”.
“So thank you for sharing your talent with me”.
Amazon beat its rival streaming service to win best comedy series, as well as best actor in this category, with Mozart in the Jungle.
“The Revenant”, a film about a man who is also left for dead – though closer to home – was honored for motion picture drama, while picking up awards for its star, Leonardo DiCaprio, and director, Alejandro González Iñárritu.
The Amazon series won the Golden Globe for Best TV Series- Comedy or Musical.
Gervais’ snark aside, the Golden Globes have worked for years to shed an image of eccentric selections made by a group of little-known global journalists.
Sam Smith and songwriter Jimmy Napes also accepted the award for Best Original Song for James Bond song “Writing’s on the Wall”. Followed by wins of countless other actors, movie and crew, such as Sylvester Stallone (“Rocky”) and Pixar’s “Inside Out”, the Globes were an exciting beginning to 2016’s award show season.

When the Oscar nominations are announced on Thursday, industry experts will be eager to see whether the film nabs a nomination aside from editing and visual effects.
