He’s recently won a Golden Globe and a BAFTA Award for the role, in addition to garnering an Independent Spirit Award nomination. People were not happy about Affleck’s win, and the fact that Larson was forced to present him with the trophy was just salt in the wound. The film’s tragic beauty won over critics early on, and Affleck playing Lee so effectively was a big part of it.
He was announced as the victor of the golden statuette at the ceremony – being held at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood on Sunday night.
