Did Yoenis Cespedes injure shoulder playing golf before game? (Probably not)
The New York Mets should offer manager Terry Collins an extension this offseason after his success with the team in 2015. But, because anything that can happen will happen, later that evening, Cespedes left the game in the second inning with shoulder soreness.
“Well, I’ve only been playing for two years, but people who have played a lot longer tell me that I am pretty good for the amount of time I’ve been playing”, Cespedes said.
Cespedes left in the second inning of the game, and somehow (or Daniel Murphy) the team was able to put up big run support without him. The club said it “didn’t know how Cespedes hurt his shoulder”, or how severe the injury was.
Juan Lagares came in to play center field for an injured Yoenis Cespedes. The 66-year-old manager will nearly certainly get an extension from the Mets in the near future, but he isn’t going to make them tack on too many years.
Cespedes, who turned 30 on Sunday, was acquired in a July 31 trade with Detroit and helped New York win the NL East title with 17 homers in 57 games with the Mets. “Unfortunately, I wore my emotions on my sleeve and the players saw it and thought I was mad at them, and therefore it didn’t work”. The Mets, in the Fall Classic for the first time since 2000, will need to keep their edge over the next several days. In the post-season this year, Cespedes has gone 9-for-33 with a. 273 batting average. He joined ESPNNewYork after spending 10 years at the New York Daily News.
“I don’t think it’s going to limit me”.
Since the Mets will play Game 1 on the road at Kansas City, they’d have the option of using Cespedes as their designated hitter if he still isn’t feeling 100 percent.
