‘Die Hard 6’ in the Works with Len Wiseman Directing
Think again! It has been revealed today that Fox are looking to make a deal with Live Free Or Die Hard (known as Die Hard 4.0 in the UK) helmer Len Wiseman to return to the franchise as director, with producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura overseeing the project for the studio.
Don’t worry. Because Die Hard 6 is coming to refresh your memory and further dilute the legacy of one of the greatest action movies of all time (and which spawned two sequels that were pretty good, before everything went to hell).
The wheels have begun to slowly spin on Die Hard 6. Wiseman came up with a new angle that he pitched to di Bonaventura, who’s staying involved here and will produce with the director. McTiernan directed Die Hard with a Vengeance in 1995.
The film is still to find a screenwriter. Basically, he’ll bookend a story line that will be set much of the action in 1979, when McClane was a cop in gritty New York City and showing how he became a die hard kind of guy. This era was also described in the 2009 and 2010 issue Die Hard: Year One.
What’s your favorite Bruce Willis movie?
It’s worth pointing out that McClane’s origin story has actually been told before, in a comic book prequel published by BOOM! Now, we can look forward to a few new young actor squinting his way through trips to the explosion factor and deploying his best Bruce Willis impression to crack wise at a bunch of winking hints to the original film. But it still made $300 million, so here we are.
I’ll just add a few extra amaretto to my egg nog this Christmas when I throw Die Hard on at neighbor disturbing volumes and pretend that none of this is happening.
