Dilwale vs Bajirao Mastani: Box Office Battle is Intense
On one side of the battle it is Peshwa ruler Bajirao played by Ranveer while the other end has Dilwala Shah Rukh Khan.
Rohit Shetty’s film is also doing good overseas.
The collections for the first three days were Rs 21.3 million, Rs 24 million and Rs 23 million respectively, said an official of EverReady pictures, which also distributed the film. These are reliable figures from film critic and trade expert Taran Adarsh. On Monday, the magnum opus movie earned Rs 10. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed epic war drama netted Rs 10.25 crore on the first Monday after release.
Well, the difference isn’t huge which “Dilwale” cannot bridge in the coming weeks, but it can’t be denied that Ranveer Singh has managed to do something which many failed to.
Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan have made the masses go gung ho after their reunion on the sets of Bigg Boss 9.
While, Dilwale had fans desperately waiting for the SRK-Kajol pairing on screen, “Bajirao Mastani” seems to be going strong in the long run with the positive word of mouth.
Here is what Shah Rukh Khan said in a media meet, “Yeah, I guess we (Raees) could shift”.
Deepika Padukone has had a wonderfully successful 2015, with highly appreciated performances in “Piku”, “Tamasha” and “Bajirao Mastani”.
Bajirao Mastani, meanwhile, opened with Rs 12.8 crore on Friday, December 18, at the India box office.
