Director promises open-world and linear gameplay, cooking and costume DLCs
Square Enix has promised a polished and fine-tuned remaster for one of the most popular titles in the “Final Fantasy” franchise, and the game is massive enough that a minor delay on its release is already expected. Unfortunately, he did not go any further than that in regard to the map of “Final Fantasy XV”, or give any explanation about its story progression. “That way, you won’t get bored of an open-world as the rest of the game tightens, so we made it in a way that you’ll also get to advance through it as you have in conventional Final Fantasy games”, Tabata confirmed.
Tabata explained that Final Fantasy XV displays with dynamic resolution on both PS4 and Xbox One.
“It wasn’t that we played VI and decided that it was the inspiration behind XV”. He added that “Final Fantasy” I to VII really had the emotional core that he wanted to be in the upcoming game.
It’s also nice to see the characters from Final Fantasy Type-0 getting some love.
With regards to the kind of DLCs to expect for “Final Fantasy 15”, there will be costume-themed content as well as additional “cooking repertoire”, which shows that foodstuff will be a big deal in the game. Essentially, Tabata is trying to please everyone. Undoubtedly, the publisher is focusing on its preparations for a major launch this year, that of “Final Fantasy XV”. He even teased that they could start developing VR contents once they are done with ensuring the quality of the game.
In another interview with Famitsu (translated by Gematsu), Tabata also said that DLCs not part of the announced six would not be part of the game’s season pass.
Square Enix definitely know how to redeem itself after the not quite so good news last week in which “Final Fantasy” XV release date was pushed to a much later date of November 29, 2016 from the initial September 30 schedule.
