Disney is already lowering box-office expectations for Star Wars: Rogue One

Star Wars: The Force Awakens was such a huge hit in part because it made sure to integrate popular characters from the original trilogy. Some rumors claimed that it was going to focus on Boba Fett. Hamill says there’s just one problem: numerous autographed memorabilia pieces on the market do not bear his real signature, leaving fans with worthless fakes.

The organizers of the event have indeed written, “Following the production of Star Wars, Carrie Fisher will be present at Comic Con in NY on Sunday afternoon”. It was a once-in-a-lifetime confluence of events that led to the film’s massive box-office success (in the United States, it’s the highest grossing film in history).

In short, Iger is playing down the recent bad press about the Rogue One reshoots by showing that Disney is invested in the Star Wars franchise.

Iger reportedly told investors that a writer has been locked down for the mysterious third spin-off film, which is scheduled to debut in 2020.

Iger said that he has seen a recent rough cut of “Rogue One” (which opens in theaters December 16) and that “we love what we’ve seen”. “So, she’s not just making a Star Wars movie, she’s making a Star Wars universe, of sorts”. Although any quotes from Iger about the space operas future are not forthcoming, Iger’s comments on the forthcoming Rogue One are quoted.
