Disney removes bronze Bill Cosby statue

“It is only new to people who didn’t believe an enormous amount of women who stated clearly that [Cosby] drugged them”, he said in a statement to Esquire magazine.

There had been a petition calling for a removal of the statue on Change.org, but it had attracted only 273 signatures before Disney’s decision to remove the statue.

Documents unsealed this week revealed Cosby testified in 2005 he had obtained Quaaludes with the intent of giving them to women he wanted to sleep with.

The sealed documents were made public following requests issued by the Associated Press in 2005 and 2014.

Constand’s lawyer, Dolores M. Troiani, questioned Cosby.

The confession came in the form of a court deposition from a sexual-abuse case filed by the ex- basketball player and Temple University employee, Andrea Constand.

“The only reason Mr. Cosby settled was because it would have been embarrassing in those days to put all those women on the stand and his family had no clue. I felt woozy. And I took a second sip and I knew I had been drugged”, she said Tuesday.

Bill Cosby was once the United States’ favorite amusing man. That status, in more blissfully ignorant days, inspired a number of aggrandizing statues and public murals. Other celebrities are openly standing by Cosby, however. “I’ve seen the pain in their eyes”, she says.

“You are still innocent until proven guilty”, and Cosby hasn’t been, Goldberg said on ABC’s “The View”.

In her eyes, the fact that Cosby admitted to giving one woman Quaaludes means that he only wanted to show her a good time.

Johnson said she the court documents don’t provide her any kind of vindication.

She doesn’t feel vindication but is encouraged by accusers speaking out. When the comedian denied the allegations and called the model a liar, she then sued him for defamation.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Police Department is conducting at least one current criminal investigation into allegations of sexual assault against Cosby, NPR reported Tuesday.

An email message to Cosby’s attorney wasn’t immediately returned Wednesday.
