Disney’s ‘Descendants’ Are Rotten to the Core in First 6 Minutes Released

Disney Channel’s “Descendants” narrates the story of the children of Disney’s most despicable villains, now in their teenage years – Cruella de Vil (“101 Dalmatians“), Evil Queen (“Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs), Maleficent (“Sleeping Beauty“) and Jafar (“Aladdin“)”.

ANDPOP special correspondent Caity Babcock got the chance to to visit the Descendants Vancouver set last summer and talk to the film’s stars: Live and Maddie’s Dove Cameron (Maleficient’s daughter Mal), Sofia Carson (the Evil Queen’s daughter, Evie) and Twilight’s Booboo Stewart (Jafar’s son Jay).

The four start out singing about how bad they are (“I’m rotten to the core/I’m not like the kid next door”), but this is Disney Channel so by the end of the movie you can bet they’re on a path to bettering themselves, particularly Mal, who falls in love with Ben. After all, they weren’t the ones who caused chaos and trouble.

Beast is initially hesitant, but he warms up to the idea after realizing that he too was once misinterpreted. You’ll be able to bring home the latest DCOM literally the same day that it premieres on Disney Channel, July 31!
