Disney teases ‘Finding Dory,’ ‘Toy Story 4’ at fan event
The sequel will reunite Dory (Ellen Degeneres) and Marlin (Albert Brooks) as the two search for answers to her past trying to find the answers to questions including, “What can she remember?”
The D23 Expo 2015 began on Friday out in Anaheim, California, and all things Disney are going absolutely insane.
After campaigning for years for a sequel to Finding Nemo, Ellen DeGeneres, who voices the forgetful blue tang, is finally getting her Finding Dory. This triggers a flashback of memories, which leads Dory, Marlin and little Nemo on a journey across the ocean to kind Dory’s family in the kelp forest of Northern California.
“Finding Dory” will be released in 3D to theaters on June 17, 2016. It will not continue the story of the original trilogy, but it will be a love story between Woody and Bo Peep, who our hero has to go find.
– Peter Sohn, director of “The Good Dinosaur”, delivered a sweet presentation about acquiring a love of movies from his Korean mother, whom he said couldn’t understand the dialogue in many American films, but always comprehended the Disney ones.
Finding Dory takes place six months after the first film. In the short, directed by Josh Cooley, the emotions in the heads of Riley’s parents panic when a boy shows up at the door and asks to see their daughter. The voice of the title character, Moana, has not yet been revealed.
Oscar winning songwriter and composer Randy Newman will be back for the film, and he joined Lasseter on stage, sitting at a piano to sing Toy Story classic “You’ve got a Friend in Me”.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was there as well to preview the South Pacific-set “Moana”, out November. 23, 2016, which follows a high spirited, 16-year-old princess 2000 years ago.
Tangled co-director Nathan Greco will helm the film while the geniuses behind the music of Frozen (Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez) will bring the music to life.
The film puts a new spin on the classic boy and his dog tale. In one amusing section, Judy visits an animal DMV staffed by sloths, who work just as fast as you would think they do. “I really, really miss them”, Dory says.
