Ditch Built-In Dictation for Dragon Anywhere Apps
Nuance, the voice recognition and productivity software company behind the iOS keyboard’s Dictation feature, today has revealed a series of updates to its applications and a new cloud-based synchronization service at the core. Because dictation is captured immediately, they can review and correct on the spot, without having to transcribe a recording later or pay for costly transcription services, which often take days to come back.
Dragon Anywhere is a note-taking app that allows users to create and edit documents with only their voices.
“For years, professionals across industries have relied on Dragon on their PCs and Macs for completing the documentation and paperwork requirements that are critical to their businesses, and we are excited to extend that experience to mobile devices with Dragon Anywhere”, Peter Mahoney, senior vice president and general manager of Dragon, said in a statement.
The innovative solutions in the new Dragon portfolio empower professionals and organizations to work smarter and more productively – in the office and on the go – with fast, accurate dictation and transcription, advanced customization, seamless integration across devices, and centralized management of multi-user and enterprise deployments. Dragon Anywhere will continue to learn your voice the more you use it, for improved accuracy.
Dragon Anywhere can serve as a standalone product, but its output can also be integrated with the revamped desktop programs Nuance also announced today- Dragon Professional Individual, Dragon Professional Group, and version 5 of Dragon for Mac.
Professionals can dictate information while it is fresh in their minds from a site visit, inspection or other field work to produce more accurate and detailed reports.
Dragon Professional Group is now available at $600. Dragon Professional Group also supports Citrix virtualized environments for published applications. And Dragon Anywhere adapts to a user’s voice within the first few minutes of use, so there is no training required.
Announcement of the new mobile apps accompanies the announcement of upgraded Dragon speech recognition software for the Mac (available early September) and PC (available late August), with which the new mobile apps will sync. Custom words and auto-texts can be easily managed by an IT administrator and deployed to employees using the app. In addition, a redesigned user interface makes it easier to access key features, get vocabulary recommendations, and add custom words and commands.
Dragon Anywhere will be available this fall in English in the U.S. and United Kingdom via the Apple iTunes Store and Google Play, as a subscription-based application.
