Divinity: Original Sin 2 announced with special Kickstarter campaign
The Divinity: Original Sin 2 Kickstarter campaign will kick off on August 26.
Larian Studios has revealed that Divinity Original Sin II is in the works and that the firm will be using Kickstarter to fund the title.
The original, which saw over 19,500 backers raise more than $900,000, was such a hit thanks to its adherence to classic RPG mechanics.
Divinity: Original Sin was a critical and commercial success for the studio, as the game received stellar reviews upon release. The Kickstarter campaign will begin this month on August 26th, but the reward voting is available now over on the game’s official site. As far as what those features will be that will make it such an ambitious game, the developer isn’t saying just yet, but it seems to be a major improvement over the original. Divinity: Original Sin 2 will apparently be on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. “For us, this allows for an unprecedented focus on the gameplay”. It felt more like a 2015 take on the genre than an homage to times past (like Pillars of Eternity).
That’s all we have for now, save the artwork, right. But before Larian even get started with that, they want to know what kind of rewards you want.
