DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz resigns amid Wikileaks email scandal

Sanders responded to her resignation Sunday afternoon.

One of the email chains that drew the sharpest rebukes talked about potentially using Sanders’ religious beliefs against him to score points with voters.

Mr Sanders and his supporters complained bitterly about the Democratic Party tipping the scales in favour of Mrs Clinton during the party’s primary.

Most of the voicemail messages were simply leaving names and numbers for a call back, however, some reveal pressure to discredit Bernie Sanders and his supporters by using all means.

PHILADELPHIA ― Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid said Wednesday that Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the outgoing Democratic National Committee chair, didn’t treat Sen.

“It goes without saying the function of the DNC”, he continued “is to represent all of the candidates to be fair and even-minded”.

Wasserman Schultz will not gavel the convention in on Monday, as previously scheduled.

Wasserman Schultz has faced a flurry of negative stories during her five-year tenure as the committee’s chairwoman, with critics charging that she was more focused on promoting her own career than on the party, but she has resisted quitting.

“I sat in that chair in 2004 trying to navigate all the different candidates we had”, he said.

An email from May 21 shows DNC press secretary Mark Paustenbach and communications director Luis Miranda talking about misleading the media into thinking that the Sanders’ “campaign was a mess”. “She just looked forward and left the room very quickly, Carol”, Lee continued.

“Donald Trump would be a disaster for this country”, Sanders continued.
