Doctor: Bernie Sanders in ‘very good health’
He noted Clinton’s Goldman Sachs speaking fees during the last presidential debate in SC and during a stop in Mason City on Wednesday night, Sanders told supporters that Clinton was raising money at a Philadelphia investment firm while he was campaigning with Iowans.
Instead, Sanders upped the ante: He offered earlier Thursday to do the New Hampshire debate on the condition that Clinton would agree to three additional debates in March, April and May. While the Post’s columnists include a heavy dose of neoconservatives alongside some traditional moderate liberals, the Post recently let go Harold Myerson, its one authentically liberal populist columnist who had the spirit of Occupy Wall Street and the Sanders campaign.
“As long as Washington is bought and paid for, we can’t build an economy that works for people”, the narrator says. GOP frontrunner Donald Trump released his health records last month.
The Clinton campaign is aiming to put Sanders in a corner: Already leading in New Hampshire, the Vermont senator has little to gain from another face-to-face contest with Clinton.
Weaver said Sanders would be “happy to have more debates” but added, “We are not going to schedule them at the whim of the Clinton campaign”.
But Sanders’ camp said she doesn’t get debates at her beck and call.
Clinton’s once-formidable lead in the polls there has evaporated in recent weeks, and Clinton and Sanders are now locked in a tight race.
“I don’t want my integrity and honestly being impugned. Why is that?” Sanders campaign manager Jeff Weaver said in a statement.
“This last-minute sneak attack from the Sanders campaign is clearly meant to plaster the Iowa airwaves in the days before the caucus with negative ads slamming Hillary Clinton, without giving our campaign time to respond”, said Matt Paul, Clinton’s Iowa director.
“You are in overall very good health and active in your professional work, and recreational lifestyle without limitation”, wrote Sanders’ doctor Brian Monahan, the attending physician of the U.S. Congress. He wrote that he has treated Sanders for 26 years.
Sen. Bernie Sanders’ doctor has endorsed him health-wise. He has also had surgery to fix hernias and excise a vocal cord cyst, the letter said.
Politicopoints out that Bernie, who will be 75 on inauguration day, would be the oldest person elected to the presidency. But!
