Doctor Strange will have a horror element to it
The Disney-owned studio skipped the show past year, with sources giving the reason as being that timing didn’t work for Marvel; Ant-Man was scheduled for release the week after 2015’s Comic-Con, and subsequent release Captain America: Civil War was still in production. That event debuted footage from Civil War, with the cast of the movie showing up onstage, and Scott Derrickson also showing up to present all-new Doctor Strange concept artwork. Speaking of Guardians, director James Gunn has also hinted that Guardians of the Galaxy 2 may have a presence in Hall H. That leaves Gunn enough time to at least make a teaser trailer to keep people excited.
Both Thor: Ragnarok and Spider-Man: Homecoming are set to roll into production this summer, so it’s unlikely we’ll get to see anything from those (even if audiences are desperately hungry for more of Tom Holland’s web-slinger), however, MCU Chief Kevin Feige recently stated that we should expect to learn some Captain Marvel details, including the title star and director, toward the end of the summer.
“What’s great about Marvel is they don’t just make superhero movies”. But this year, the directors of Marvel’s next two movies have all but confirmed they’ll be back. The major film studio explained that they are skipping the event due to piracy concerns of their exclusive content that was a problem at last year’s event, according to The Wrap. Cumberbatch plays Stephan Strange and Ejiorur plays Baron Mordo in the Marvel movie.
Action star Scott Adkins, whose character in Doctor Strange has not been announced in public, told The Huffington Post on June 9 that the upcoming movie has some scary elements, which can qualify the Marvel film as a horror flick.
“This is going to show that other dimension side. It’s gonna be a different version of a Marvel comic”.
