Dodge Charger, Challenger Add “Plum Crazy” Paint Option
The 2015 Woodward Dream Cruise will start in just two days time and we are promised an awesome event, and as a nod to the good old days Dodge has decided to bring something very special to the show, and that is a new 2016 Challenger and Charger color option. For Challenger, it can be had on the STX, R/T, Shaker, Scat Pack, SRT 392 and Hellcat.
“Powerful muscle cars painted in impactful colors make Woodward Dream Cruise the flawless setting for Dodge to debut the newest generation Challenger and Charger models in Plum insane”, said Tim Kuniskis, Dodge Brand and SRT Brand President and Chief Executive Officer. It will only be available to order in the 2016 model year. For the true Mopar fan, the 6.2-liter, 707 horsepower Charger and Challenger Hellcat may also be had in Plum insane.
The standout color is back for a limited-production run.
The paint color looks fantastic on the Challenger in the press photos you see here. Dealers will be able to order the colors starting in October, and the cars will go into production starting in November. FCA says it’s specifically targeting the performance-enthusiast demographic. Dodge revived the High Impact colors in 2006 and has offered them since, but perhaps the most noteworthy of those colors, Plum insane, has seen only limited release.
Plum insane has been offered occasionally on Dodge vehicles since 1970. OK, it’s not actually associated with Cars.com or our signature purple – that would be just plum insane.
