Does Hillary stand by top aide’s “blame America for 9/11” views?
Judicial Watch, which released the documents Monday, said in a statement that the messages show Clinton aide Huma Abedin “provided influential Clinton Foundation donors special, expedited access to the secretary of state”. And by 2010, it had contributed $32 million to CGI.
“Danny abraham called this morning”.
‘If u see him, let him know, ‘ wrote Abedin. Josh Schwerin, a spokesman for the Democrat’s campaign, told the Wall Street Journal Monday that the emails are another “utterly false” attack from “a right-wing organization that has been going after the Clintons since the 1990s”. ‘I never got that one’.
In a separate January 1996 article, Abedin’s mother – who was the Muslim World League’s delegate to the United Nations conference – wrote that Clinton and other speakers were advancing a “very aggressive and radically feminist” agenda that was un-Islamic and wrong because it focused on empowering women.
In another exchange, a former Bill Clinton aide emailed Abedin and Band to see if they could do a favor for U2’s Bono, who has hosted fundraiser concerts for the Clinton Foundation.
In another email from May 2009, Band passed along a request to Abedin from entertainment mogul Casey Wasserman, who has contributed between $5 million and $10 million to the Clinton Foundation.
Republicans are pressing to keep the issue of Clinton’s email use alive after the FBI closed its investigation last month without recommending criminal charges.
While it is routine for the secretary of state to meet with foreign dignitaries, it is not common for the meetings to be arranged by forces outside the State Department. Jill Iscol is now a top bundler for Hillary for America.
According to Judicial Watch, in one blatant example of privileged access in the new batch, Abedin coordinated with Band to set up a meeting between the Crown Prince Salman of Bahrain and Clinton after Salman couldn’t get a meeting set up through normal State Department channels.
“He asked to see hrc thurs and Friday thru normal channels”. In many instances, the preferential treatment provided to donors was at the specific request of Clinton Foundation executive Douglas Band. “We have reached out thru official channels”.
As noted by Judicial Watch, the foundation website says the crown prince committed to an worldwide scholarship program in 2005, through the Clinton Global Initiative.
The State Department has publicly released most of those work-related emails, although some have been withheld because they contain information considered sensitive to national security. In the email chain (subject line: Danny) Clinton responded by asking if the plane would wait for her if she was late. In Abedin’s June deposition to Judicial Watch, she conceded that part of her job at the State Department was taking care of ” Clinton family matters“.
