Does This Backside Belong to LG’s Upcoming ‘Bullhead’ Nexus?
Apparently, Google wasn’t really sure that LG should be building one of its Android smartphones this year, even if the Korean company helped the search giant with the original Nexus 5 back in 2013.
Nevertheless, the case does make some interesting suggestions. Fast-forward to today, and a leak claims to be giving us our first (early) look at the LG device. This evening a piece of corroborating “evidence” has surfaced which shows the same design, re-igniting the discussion of exactly what we’ll see from an LG Nexus phone. The image in question comes from tipster @OnLeaks and shows what a case maker sketched up based on an early information.
The Nexus 5 leaked pictures follow below.
In terms of form factor, this case suggests the LG Nexus 5 (2015) could come with a rounded design. The image offers some details about the device, including support for what appears to be a 3D camera. As of right now, it appears we can expect a camera (duh), LED flash (duh), and what could be a fingerprint reader.
However, a second photo was released a few hours later showing some mockups of actual cases for the new device. At this point, who knows. Those being three big cutouts on back for dual cameras or a fingerprint scanner, a rearranged set of buttons, and a fourth notch in the case above the buttons for another button or switch, similar to Apple’s “silent” switch. The Nexus 5 (2013) has a 2300mAh battery.
LG has codenamed its Nexus 5 2015 model “Bullhead”, and the device is expected to feature a larger, 5.2-inch display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. The image above could actually be cases for the 5.7-inch Huawei Nexus 6, but we’ll have to wait and see. This would be earlier than the last two years and a surprise change of pace.
