Dog dumped in animal shelter parking lot is hit by car, dies
The Columbia County Humane Society officials would like to maintain ownership of Misty for now, to make sure they can move her to a foster home for more recovery and to make sure the rest of her life is much better. She said she turned herself into Lewiston police at 4 p.m. Thursday. “I mean she’s just wonderful, well-behaved, so sweet”.
Dr. Cooper at the Portage Veterinary Clinic says Misty’s blood work came back and showed she is healthy for her age. “My intentions, I really didn’t have any intentions about her. I was just caring about my kids”.

The driver hasn’t been identified by name or gender, but the Lewiston Police Department said in a statement that they have figured out who it was and sent the information to the District Attorney’s Office. The woman told FRANK FM that she was going to be charged.
The Henderson Humane Society said it will keep the dog for seven days for the owner to come pick her up.
Police say they expect to file a criminal charge against the person who abandoned a dog outside a ME animal shelter. That video went viral generating massive outrage and anger. When she arrived at the shelter, the doors were locked and the lights were off, so she left the dog in the parking lot.
