Dog Rescued From Subway Tracks At Davisville Station – Service Resumes
A dog which was trapped in a subway tunnel near Davisville Station has been rescued.
TTC spokesman Brad Ross says the dog wandered away from her home this morning and somehow made her way to the tracks.
Davisville station lies under the TTC’s head office and next to the Davisville subway yard. At about 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Katie’s owner told CTV News the dog was put down.
The dog, named Katie, was carried out on a stretcher covered in a blood-spattered blanket following a rescue from inside a subway tunnel Tuesday afternoon. Katie was four-and-a half years old.
Staff from the clinic attended the scene and transported the dog for care, but said the dog’s injuries were too severe.
Service was suspended on the TTC’s Yonge-University Line 1 after the incident, with trains turning back at Eglinton and Bloor. Service has now resumed.
