Dogs Found Murdered In Arkansas Forest
The slaughter left 56 dogs dead, with one having to be put to sleep later due to its injuries.
The two people stumbled upon the massacre Thursday afternoon just off Arkansas 254 in the Chimes-Trace Ridge Area, a remote timber land where no one lives, KY3-TV reported.
Authorities believe the dogs were poisoned and then shot.
“Systematically just start shooting and just leaving them lying and not even making sure that they’re dead”.
Pruitt says the dogs could’ve been on the property for two or three days, and there are no immediate clues as to where they came from.
Other than the dog who jumped in the truck immediately, Magruder says the survivors were understandably skittish when shelter workers arrived.
Evidence has been recovered from the scene in the woods, but investigators are still checking everything out. According to the sheriff, the person or persons responsible for the massacre could be facing felony charges and he is asking locals for tips.
The survivors appeared very scared when anyone came around, but they would never stray far from the murdered pack of dogs. Shelter workers found three dogs that it appeared had been fed sleeping pills, but had escaped the gunshots. “You know, it’s just- I just can’t imagine somebody doing that”. ‘Who could hurt him? Magruder is going back to the area every day to feed them and try to catch the survivors.
Passmore has shown a lot of emotion when interviewed by police and news stations as she just can’t help but be sad by their demise.
