Dollars 10 Billion Pakistan Nuclear Power Plant to be Built by China
The tape had been played to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, the minister said.
Inaugurating the concrete pouring ceremony of the Nuclear Power Plant-II, the Prime Minister said he was pleased to note the pace of progress as he had performed the ground breaking of Kanupp-2 and Kanupp-3 in November 2013.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Thursday that Karachi’s law and order situation has significantly improved since the Karachi operation was initiated two years ago. The Prime Minister prayed for early recovery of the injured parliamentarian and directed provision of best medical facilities for him.
China in April announced it would invest $46 billion in infrastructure, energy and transport projects in Pakistan as part of an ambitious project dubbed the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
The prime minister said action should be taken against the persons responsible for installing CCTV cameras of poor quality.
The PM showed gratitude to the Chinese government, CNNC, and other Chinese organizations over their cooperating in the construction of nuclear power plants.
Addressing the gathering, Sharif said the government remained committed in its resolve to wipe out terrorism and extremism from the country and said there would be no letup in the ongoing operations against terrorists across the country. He added that terrorist activities and attacks will not stop the government’s mission. Officially, the PM House stated that “matters relating to the internal security situation of the country were discussed in the meeting“.
He will be briefed further by Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and chief secretary Sindh.
Referring to attack on MQM leader Rashid Godil, the Prime Minister said the perpetrators of the crime would be nabbed and brought to the book.
During his short visit, PM Nawaz is scheduled to visit the city’s Hub area to launch a unit of the K-2 project of Karachi Nuclear Power Plant (KANUPP).
Following the apex committee meeting, PM Nawaz also addressed representatives of Karachi’s Parsi community.
