Dolphins come back against Eagles

Everybody loves the backup quarterback.

Besides the loss, starting quarterback Sam Bradford was injured in the third quarter, it was later learned that the former first round pick suffered a left shoulder injury and a concussion.

Who is most to blame for 4-5 Eagles?

No, no, a thousand times no. Ryan Nassib (Giants)? Matt McGloin (Oakland)? Trying to stomach the idea of much more Sanchez … that’s even worse.

If you still have faith in Sanchez, I’ve got nothing for you. Kelly would not give a day on which Bradford must be cleared to play in order for him to suit up on Sunday.

But let’s not carried away here. But so does Bradford. He ran tempo for three years at Oklahoma.

In Sanchez’ eight starts with the Eagles last season after he replaced Nick Foles, the offense averaged a play every 22.4 seconds. “I think that’s what everybody is striving to get to”.

Despite being unable to move the Eagles into the playoffs last season, Sanchez was re-signed by the Eagles for a guaranteed $5.5 million of a two-year, $16 million contract. “I thought it was a great call”.

Sounds like a terrific plan.

But the defense that was 31st against the run (142 yards per game) held the NFL’s 10th-best rushing attack (121 yards per game) to 83 yards rushing. He entered this season with the fifth-best interception percentage in league history. There’s just no time to adjust everything to Sanchez’s strengths, not when the script has to flip again when Bradford’s back. Maybe that will be the case.

But Bradford was out at the Eagles’ short one-hour practice Tuesday, an indication that his concussion symptoms are subsiding.

“In our whole rookie class we have rookie meetings all the time and we always talk about our class wanting to be guys that can help change just the mentality of this team and continue to help this team win games”, Ajayi said. You never want to see a teammate go down. “He may go a little bit faster pace than what Sam is, so other than that, probably just the tempo may be a little bit faster”.

Whenever he returns, the starting job will be waiting for him.
