Dolphins confident playing on road against Jets
Only one game separates the Jets, Bills and Dolphins. These two teams faced off in week four, when the Jets were at the height of their success in 2015. Pro-Jets aficionados would be glad to know that Gang Green comes in with a 4-1-1 record in their last six games played against the AFC East and a 5-2-1 mark in their last eight games after allowing more than 350 total yards.
The New York Jets have looked like world-beaters at times, and cellar-dwellers at others. “I coached with Dan. Dan’s a tough guy and Dan’s got his imprint on the team and they’re responding very well”.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of the great New York Jets’ fans near and far. LINE: Jets 3.5. O/U: 42.5.ABOUT THE JETS (5-5): Mangold, a key to the Jets’ rushing attack, has been in and out of the lineup for several weeks while battling different injuries and suffered a severe cut on his hand last week. Marshall, who scorched the Dolphins with seven catches for 128 yards in Week 4, had four games with 100-plus receiving yards during the 4-1 start but just one 100-yard game since. The Jets need him to step up in Revis’ absence to help keep Ryan Tannehill in check. The Dolphins have looked better since Joe Philbin was sacked, and have fought their way to an outside shot in the playoff hunt. The road team has covered the point spread in six of the last seven meetings of these two.
“I think we try to complicate things too much at times and you nearly end up outsmarting yourself, ” Fitzpatrick said. “That’s the problem. I just think we need to execute better”. Miami claimed him on Tuesday, and he could be playing against his former team on Sunday. Revis at least has the excuse of a third-quarter concussion; his partner-in-crime Antonio Cromartie can offer no such alibis, suffering through a dismal 2015 season that will likely preclude a return in 2016. NY got a career high 166 yards rushing from Chris Ivory in winning against Miami 27-14 earlier in the season. The Jets picked off Tannehill twice, and Fitzpatrick threw one interception. “We want to get back to doing what we are good at”.
Time for that to happen is running out on the Jets before they fade from playoff contention and their last few games become irrelevant, leaving this season to blend in as another in a long string of disappointments.
Entering Week 12, the Dolphins defense ranks 20 in the National Football League in both, points (24.9) and passing yards per game allowed (251.2).
