Dolphins donning throwbacks in December
In commemoration of the team’s 50th season, the Dolphins decided to “refresh their original uniform composition – a solid aqua jersey punctuated by white and orange numbers paired to white pants” for the throwback look. On Wednesday, the workforce introduced a particular celebration their followers can have a say in. Those four groups will vote from a list of 100 players throughout the team’s history compiled by the Dolphins organization. The Dolphins have released information about how those players will be chosen.
The throwbacks will be worn during Miami’s Monday Night Football meeting vs. the Giants on December 14, the first time the team has worn them for a home game. Fans, together with Dolphins alumni, South Florida media members and a blue-ribbon panel, will contribute in selecting the highest 50 gamers in Dolphins historical past.
Those 50 players will be announced throughout the season and be honored collectively December 14. The only other time Miami played in throwbacks was on November 27, 2003 in a 40-21 Thanksgiving Day win at Dallas, where the team commemorated the 30th anniversary of the 1973 team that won Super Bowl VIII.
