Dolphins find keys to shut down Eagles

The Eagles lost to the Dolphins, 20-19, at Lincoln Financial Field.

With defensive end Cam Wake out for the season, the Dolphins need Suh more than ever.

When Kelly and the Eagles look at the film on Monday, they’re going to painfully re-live the missed opportunities they had to win this game.

Sanchez has one more season with the Eagles after this year comes to an end.

Offensively for the Dolphins, Ryan Tannehill completed 21 of 36 passes with no interceptions and 217 yards with two touchdowns. So the chances of Mark Sanchez starting next weekend and for the short-term future are pretty high as of right now.

Meanwhile the Dolphins went ahead when Jarvis Landry had the presence of mind to go get a Ryan Tannehill pass that deflected into the air like a pop fly in baseball.

“We were hoping he would just take a peek”, Kelly said of after the game.

The next five Eagles’ drives all ended with a punt.

“I think at that point as a team, you see the adversity kind of setting up and you have to settle down and make a few stops”, Jenkins said. To me, he’s a guy that’s proven that when things don’t always go your way, he’s going to dig and he goes that much harder. “But I saw Jarvis see the ball, and the defender did not see the ball”. It was a disaster. Miles Austin looked the wrong way on Sanchez’s first pass.

If Mathews can’t go, DeMarco Murray has no issue with extra work.

On fourth-and-10 at the Philly 44, for the win, Sanchez threw a six-yard pass to Jordan Matthews.

Although X-rays were negative, Bradford held his non-throwing arm close to his stomach like it was in a sling after the third-quarter hit.

Philadelphia announced later Sunday that Bradford also was diagnosed with a concussion. It was a borderline call. With the injury battles the quarterback has had in his career, it shouldn’t come as a shock, but help could be needed to finish out the year. Tannehill hit RB Lamar Miller for a 12-yard touchdown two plays later to cut the Eagles lead to 16-13 at halftime.
