Dolphins’ Jones upset about being bypassed in Pro Bowl vote

This is the 15 straight season the Steelers are sending multiple players to the Pro Bowl, and the 24 time in the last 27 seasons.

Widely considered San Francisco’s most valuable player this season, Bowman is tied for the most tackles in the league this season with 136 along with a pari of sacks and two defended passes. Pouncey was a Pro Bowl selection in 2013 at center and previous year at guard.

Pouncey’s three consecutive Pro Bowl selections are the most by a Dolphins interior offensive lineman since guard Keith Sims was selected to three consecutive games following the 1993-95 seasons. “I felt he’s the guy that deserved it more than anybody on our football team and through the NFL the way he’s played”. I say that because of the relationship I have with them and their fight, their willingness to sacrifice their bodies to get a few yards. “I’m excited and thankful to be part of the ten”.

Martin’s performance is reminiscent of his rookie year, when the first-round draft pick from Boise State earned his first appearance in the Pro Bowl as he rushed for 1,454 yards and 11 touchdowns.

The Pro Bowl roster will be divided into two teams by captains Jerry Rice and Michael Irvin. Being selected is a huge honor, but Panthers players hope they don’t play in the game itself, scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016, in Hawaii.

New England’s other players for the matchup are: tight end Rob Gronkowski; defensive end Chandler Jones; linebacker Jamie Collins; cornerback Malcolm Butler; special teams player Matthew Slater; and kicker Stephen Gostkowski. Once again the Pro Bowl is unconferenced, and players were selected without their conference taken into consideration via a combination of players, coaches and fans voting.

Frederick made the team for the second time in three seasons.

In addition to these seven players, injured running back Chris Johnson was named a Pro Bowl alternate. If they fall short of that target, a trip to Hawaii for the Pro Bowl won’t be the worst consolation prize.
