Dolphins’ Jordan placed on reserve non-football injury list
The Miami Dolphins placed the former OR star defensive end on the reserve/non-football injury list Tuesday morning, meaning Jordan, the No. 3 overall pick of the 2013 NFL draft, must sit out the first six games of the regular season.
In addition, the team announced that linebacker Zach Vigil, who started two games for the Dolphins last season, has also been placed on the reserve/non-football injury list. “Let’s get him to where he feels he’s back, and his mind is right, and he’s ready to take the next step”. The suspension was due to violating the NFL’s policy over substance abuse. If the player does begin practicing, he then has three weeks to be promoted to the 53-man roster, or the team can choose to place him on Injured Reserve for the remainder of the season. The ruling meant he could return to camp and participate in meetings, but knee surgery shortly before he was reinstated has limited Jordan to only one preseason start and will now delay his season.
Jordan hasn’t played in an National Football League game since December 2014. “All of it was tough, I feel, being away from the game the whole year. I trained real hard and I’m here”.
