Dolphins make 1 mistake too many in 23-20 loss at Jaguars
Beasley of the Miami Herald reported Sunday that Suh “freelanced” on certain plays in Miami’s 23-20 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, causing “confusion” among Dolphins players. It will be a pretty interesting to watch how Miami’s defensive line holds up against the Jaguars’ 2015 second-rounder draft pick. “I grinded all week and I was very excited”.
“And I really liked kicking that 58-yarder”. He’s no lock to hit a game-winning field goal but Vernon made it way too easy for him. “That was nice to see from that distance”. After struggling last week in the second half, he did not allow a sack and the Jaguars’ offensive line did not allow a sack. He caught five passes in the first half, good for 145 yards and two touchdowns. The biggest play of the drive came following a 6-yard run by T.J. Yeldon to the Dolphins’ 34. Making matters worse up front, left tackle Branden Albert left Sunday’s game against the Jaguars with a hamstring injury and did not return.
The Jaguars recorded 18 total plays for 396 yards, out of which, 123 came through the air and 273 through the air. But he drilled this one through the uprights for the win. When asked about his poor play, Suh seemed to blame Coyle. I take full responsibility for my actions and on to the next week.
Both teams will look to get the game started on the ground. The Dolphins on the other hand, are still searching for their answer at quarterback, though that could perhaps be Ryan Tannehill. The score was 27-13, but had it not been for two Blake Bortles interceptions being returned for touchdowns, the score would have been knotted at 13. Regardless, Stills’ non-production on the field and his lack of chemistry with the quarterback is a concern and that is why he is on this list. The Dolphins had the ball for just 22 plays in the first half against the Redskins, getting nothing on an early third-and-1 run off right guard. He isn’t freeing up the linebackers to make plays and isn’t as dominant as everyone expected. We have to approach this game like the Jaguars won the Super Bowl a year ago.
Neither team could mount a drive after that, however, as the teams traded punts for the next 10 possessions.
“I’m unbelievably proud of the work that he’s put in, and I’m so grateful to him”, Miami offensive coordinator Bill Lazor said. The rookie rusher possess a shined potential against the Carolina Panthers, and could be the leading rusher in the field that Jacksonville Jaguars want him to be.
If the Dolphins can win today they will move to 2-0 and continue their ideal start to the new season. “We’re looking forward to Jacksonville”.
The Dallas Cowboys make a trip to Philly without their all-star wide receiver Dez Bryant. But the Dolphins know they must play a much cleaner game beginning this week, or there will be a lot of ugly questions.
The Dolphins made the team’s third drive count, as Tannehill led a 10-play, 56-yard drive that ended in another field goal. Offensively Tannehilll and Miller need to put up the numbers they are capable of putting up and Jacksonville is a great place to boost their confidences with big games before two tough division match ups in weeks three and four. Sunday’s game marked the third straight year that Miami has played in Jacksonville. Despite adding the $114 million player this offseason, the Dolphins’ defense somehow appears worse in 2015. The Jaguars would advance to the AFC Championship game where they would eventually lose to the Tennessee Titans.
