Lamar Miller is also looking to add his name to the club’s record books, as he needs just 231 yards over the final three games to become the first Dolphins running back with back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons since Ricky Williams (2002-03).

Woodhead caught TD passes of 20, 9 and 9 yards, and scored on a 2-yard run for the Chargers (4-10), who failed to score a touchdown in each of their previous two home games.

Woodhead later rushed for a two-yard touchdown before catching another one for nine yards in the second quarter.

The Chargers are now shutting out the Dolphins leading by a score of 23-0 thanks to Woodhead’s three touchdowns. “For this to potentially be it, after 54 years and all those memories, that doesn’t sit well with anyone at all”.

In the fourth quarter, the Chargers played a video tribute to Floyd, who is retiring after this season, his 12th with San Diego. One of the best players ever to perform at his position got a curtain call when coach Mike McCoy called a time out and took out Philip Rivers, Malcom Floyd and Gates. The Chargers and archrival Oakland Raiders want to build a stadium in Carson, while Kroenke wants to build one in Inglewood.

In the playoffs, the Chargers are 11-17, including five appearances in the AFL championship game, with one victory, and one Super Bowl, a 49-26 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on January 29, 1995. At the very least, the result was a Chargers win, but safety Eric Weddle wasn’t satisfied with only leaving fans with that.

The NFL will vote next month on relocating as many as two teams.

But Woodhead got it back, pulling in yet another touchdown catch – this time from 9 yards – and the rout was official.
