‘Don’t cry,’ Ronda Rousey tells Bethe Correia after 34-sec KO
She recently took to her Twitter and Instagram accounts to guarantee that she won’t lose like others have before her.
That was learned the hard way by her challenger Bethe Correia who was knocked out by Rousey in 34-seconds of the first round of their match during UFC 190 in Brazil on Sunday.
She made her MMA amateur debut in 2010 as part of Combat Fight League’s Ground Zero team and, like Saturday, she demolished her opponent, Hayden Munoz.
Before the fight, Correia had said she didnt know about what happened to Rouseys father and never intended to attack her personally.
“I said the exact same thing she was saying to me at the weigh-ins when she was screaming in my face at weigh-ins. I know I’ve improved a lot since the last time we fought”.
That is true. But people are witnessing this at the expense of any real sense of competition, which of course is not Rousey’s fault – at least not yet though that could change the longer she pushes off Cyborg, which is what she said she intends to do as she has designs on future opponents and Hollywood films.
On Saturday night, Rousey ended the fight with Correia in less than 40 seconds.
I hope that nobody really brings up my family anymore when it comes to fights, she said. Themed by Rhonda Rosie vs. Beth Korea participated under their by Mauricio Rua vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.
The UFCs biggest star, Rousey arrived in Rio as the overwhelming favorite against Correia (9-1) after winning her previous three title defenses in a combined 96 seconds.
