Don’t sit through the ‘Star Wars: The Force Awaken’ credits
In less than a month, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”, the highly anticipated first part of a brand-new trilogy in the eminent space opera franchise, will premiere at theaters across the globe.
Carrie Fisher has also been wonderfully outspoken in the run up to the film’s release, having called the banning of the “slave Leia” toy “stupid” while also revealing how she was made to lose 35Ib before playing General Leia in the upcoming film. “How can anything live up to any expectation like that?” “In a way, we were going backward to go forward”.
Meanwhile, Harrison Ford was using the Twitter-verse to drop some pretty mild Star Wars news and/or plasma bombs.
Eclectic Method had uploaded a three-minute video summarizing the six Star Wars films.
And The Force Awakens won’t be setting up Episode VIII, at least not after the credits have rolled. I think the underlying 1970s style is so integral in the original three movies that I tried to inject that feeling into this new film. New stars include Daisy Ridley (Rey), John Boyega (Fin), and Oscar Isaacs (Poe Dameron).
Disney is guarding details about the plot of “Force Awakens”. The movie, directed by Rian Johnson, is set to continue the story of The Force Awakens, so it’s obviously a no-brainer that most – or all – of the characters will return.
The cast and Abrams said they wanted to preserve the element of surprise for filmgoers. The film is set 30 years after the 1983 movie, “Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi”. “It’s always joyful and always uplifting even though bad things happen”. Post-credits scenes are definitely fun for fans, and a good incentive to get people to stick around and watch the credits but I cant say that Im too upset that Star Wars: The Force Awakens wont have one. Adam Driver claimed he could not remember if his character, the Darth Vader-like Kylo Ren, had his own theme song.
“I don’t want to spoil it for anyone”, he said. “I don’t think anyone took on because it was a gig or because it was available”.
Aside from fan anticipation, the movie faces lofty box office projections for the opening weekend, from $170 million to $220 million in just the United States and Canada, a level never achieved in December.
