Don’t wear LeBron’s shoes if you want to beat him
I’ma bust your ass.
A word of advice: if you’re playing against LeBron James and you’re not a close friend, do not wear his signature shoe.
After Welch and Green discuss their custom items, James reaches into a black bag and pulls out the Nike Zoom Generation 1, but not just any pair: The very first pair he wore as an National Basketball Association player inside of Quicken Loans Arena.
James says he holds a mental edge on the court over any player that wears them.
“So for me, now that I’m in MJ class…”
“If you’re just a guy that actually goes to Foot Locker or somewhere and gets a pair of ‘Brons and you want to wear them on a Tuesday night versus me, I’m gonna bust your ass, straight up”, he said.
James, who has a noted affinity for Ohio State and a wish to play the preseason games scheduled in non-NBA cities, said “I know for sure I’ll be active Monday in Columbus and then we’ll figure out Tuesday after that”. It might not have given him a mental edge, but he definitely used it to trash talk his opponents.
The Cleveland Cavalier, placing himself an “MJ class”, said his attitude came from watching Michael Jordan while he was growing up.
