Don’t Worry! Gwyneth Paltrow Is Not Consciously Uncoupling from Goop
The actor Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed plans to step away from her lifestyle website, Goop.
The actress aired her concerns while speaking at the 2016 Sage Summit business convention in Chicago, Illinois, where she took part in a panel discussion with Zooey Deschanel, who sold her female-focused website HelloGiggles to Time Inc. bosses a year ago (15).
“My dream is that one day no one would remember that I have anything to do with it”. “How can I separate myself from the brand?”
Perhaps it’s because Paltrow, who once suggested that parents with “regular” jobs maybe have it easier than Hollywood elite, realizes people find her incredibly pretentious and she wants to set Goop free from these constraints. As stated, Paltrow began Goop back in 2008 as a weekly newsletter, and the site now offers cooking, health and travel advice.
“More and more I would like it to be its own brand”, she continued.
“All she was saying was that in order to scale and build a true lifestyle brand, it needs to stand on its own”, the source tells PeopleStyle.
So why the need for such a “conscious uncoupling”? Everything that has succeeded about Goop is because of Paltrow’s antics, not despite them, and while I can conceptually comprehend her decision to let the brand float on its own, it might be a mistake. Vanity Fair recently reported on what it is like to work for Paltrow and the publication gave great details about the space that is the brand’s headquarters.
