Don’t worry, more Pepsi ideal bottles are on the way
Yesterday, one of the cool releases that Back to the Future fans were desperate to get their hands on (in addition to Mondo’s new vinyl set of the entire trilogy soundtrack and a bunch of other goodies) was a bottle of Pepsi ideal. To make their fans happy, Pepsi released a limited edition of Pepsi flawless that sold out faster than the company had anticipated. “They couldn’t even get that right”.
Now Pepsi is giving themselves a shot at redemption.
Thanks to the righteous anger of diehard Back to the Future fans, Pepsi made a decision to start making more bottles. Due to Pepsi’s extensive replies and wording in this tweet, it sounds like the company may just have open orders for Pepsi ideal on the morning of November 3rd, and then they will never be sold again after that.
“Stayed up hoping I could snag one at MIDNIGHT… even after following them on Twitter and trying to try every link… seems these were sold out before anyone could actually buy them… very disappointing”.
That made a few die-hard movie fans angry. This time around, consumers will have to pre-order directly from Pepsi’s website.
At least this time, they’re going into specifics. “We will deliver on our promise to fans, and the rest will go on sale as planned”, said a spokersperson to CNN Money. The date, October 21, 2015, was the future day that Doc Brown and Marty McFly traveled to in the movie.
