Donald Trump: Black Pastors Want Apology For Black Lives Matter, Mexican
The 69-year-old’s decision to potentially drop out of the next debate – scheduled for Tuesday, December 15 in Las Vegas – comes from his belief that the news agency “doesn’t treat him properly”.
BURNETT: All right. So, Reverend, let me ask you, you were invited in the meeting. So either 1) a for-profit news organization willingly parts with seven figures based on the threats of a political candidate; 2) the front-runner doesn’t show up for a major debate weeks before voting begins; or 3) Donald Trump backs down from something he said.
“It went longer because of the love”. The reason for its apparent removal is unclear: Other stories dated September 14, 2001, have been retained.
In an email missive Monday, Katie McGinty’s campaign said Trump “has spent the last six months insulting women and minorities” and that anxious Republicans are running to trump after Democrats swept five statewide judicial elections last month.
“I will win the Hispanics”, Trump assured.
“We voiced concerns sensitive to the African-American community”, Scott said.
The meeting not only ignited controversy, it spawned confusion.
Donald Trump sat down with some religious leaders of black churches across the country inside the Trump Towers in New York City Monday.
But several black pastors invited to the gathering quickly rebutted the endorsement talk. Despite low attendance and next to no results, Trump ultimately declared the event a roaring success while using an organizer and observer to back his points.
The backlash came as Trump has drawn fresh condemnation after a Black Lives Matter protester was physically attacked at his campaign rally.
“And the net effect of this is in these really serious times he’s not a serious leader”, he said. Mr. Trump forced others to take a stance.
“I don’t want to discuss that”, he said. “The mood in the room overall was very positive”.
“If he’s not willing to apologize…he’s going to lose a lot of the minority voters”, Bishop Victor Couzens, who urged Trump to repent his sins, told ThinkProgress. Trump and Ben Carson have been leading the race in the polls.
Trump has proposed payments tied to the debates before.
Jim Roddey, chairman of the Allegheny County GOP, does not support Trump.
So you don’t think he’s a racist?
Scott, the organizer of Monday’s meeting, responded by saying African-Americans engaged in name-calling should be “ashamed”.
“I’m not sure that that’s the best choice for us, but they made that decision”, said Rep. Patrick Meehan of Delaware County, who is supporting Gov. Christie for president and said he would not attend the Trump event. In an open letter published in Ebony, they described Trump as someone whose “overtly divisive” rhetoric “brings out the worst sorts of white racist aggression”.
