Donald Trump Blasts Trey Gowdy As He Is Expected To Endorse Rubio

One audience member told Breitbart News before the speech that he was unsure about Rubio but he appreciated Gowdy’s work in grilling Hillary Clinton during her Benghazi testimony.

Gowdy’s announcement was rumored for days, and Donald Trump chose to try to get out in front of the announcement by bashing Gowdy in an appearance on Fox & Friends Sunday.

As Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) makes his endorsement of Sen. But it could also be a boon for Rubio in Iowa, where Gowdy is joining him for two days of campaigning this week, lending the Florida senator considerable conservative credibility.

Today, after Gowdy released his rationale for endorsing Rubio, Trump quadrupled-down on the scorn he’d been sending Gowdy’s way all week.

But his endorsement is most significant for Rubio in the congressman’s home state of SC, which will host the third major contest in in the race for the Republican presidential nomination on February 20.

“I don’t think it will have an impact one way or the other”, Wynn said about Gowdy’s endorsement.

Trey Gowdy could conceivably yield more support for voters on the Republican Party’s far right, including those affiliated with the Tea Party movement. “It’s not my job to tell you what to do. i will respectfully ask you to give me a listen and give him consideration and see if he can convince you the way he convinced me”. But Gowdy is not the only influential Republican to signal support for Rubio as of late. “And Marco Rubio is the best for them”.
