Donald Trump boycotts TV debate over moderator Megyn Kelly
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump Wednesday night officially announced that he is holding the “Donald J. Trump Special Event to Benefit Veterans Organizations” Thursday at 9 pm.
“Fox News is making tens of millions of dollars on debates, and setting ratings records (the highest in history) where as in previous years they were low-rated afterthoughts”.
Donald Trump’s campaign manager declared Tuesday that the front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination will not attend Fox News’ GOP Debate on Thursday.
Kelly and Trump weren’t always at odds – during the 2012 campaign, Kelly asked Trump about accepting a job to moderate a national debate.

In a call on Saturday with a Fox News executive, Lewandowski stated that Megyn had a “rough couple of days after that last debate” and he “would hate to have her go through that again.”…
Trump fired back to Cruz’ criticisms, taking to Twitter with his on comments about where the two candidates would debate – a subtle reference to a claim surrounding Cruz’ eligibility to run for president in the United States.
Mr Trump had earlier told a campaign rally that he would “probably” skip the debate because of his enduring anger at Ms Kelly, the presenter who confronted him in a similar event last August over denigrating statements he had made about women. After the first Republican primary debate, where she’d challenged Trump on his history of sexist behavior, he responded with what was widely taken to be a vulgar implication that Kelly was menstruating at the time. Instead I will only call her a lightweight reporter! Trump said he thought the question he got was “equally unfair”. Fox also said Trump planned to replace the Cabinet with his Twitter followers. “In a recent instance, on January 11, Trump wrote “@megynkelly recently said that she can’t be wooed by Trump.
“That’s why I’m doing this, it’s because I want the position, it’s because I know the potential of this country, how great the country can be”, Trump said. The debate, Meckler added, is “going to be the Donald Trump hate fest”.
The Cruz super PAC donors said the money they would give if he agrees to a one-on-one debate would help provide even more support for veterans.
