Donald Trump: Claim that Obama founded ISIS was “sarcasm”
Trump’s comments about the rise of IS may be based in the remarks of Michael T. Flynn, the former director of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) who has become a Trump surrogate.
But today, Trump doubled down, telling homebuilders in Miami Beach, Florida that Obama and Clinton were “the founders of ISIS”.

The Republican presidential nominee in the past has accused his opponent, Democrat Hillary Clinton, of founding the militant group.
“Of course he likes Hillary Clinton”, Mr Trump said of the 29-year-old gunman’s father. “He was the founder”. It is also important to realize that Assad, by what he did in his country allowed ISIS to move into Syria and get strongholds and recruit.
Rep. Seth Moulton, a Clinton endorser and Democrat from MA as well as an Iraq War veteran, said the incident was evidence that Trump is “reckless and unfit to be our commander in chief”.
As recently as Thursday, however, Trump’s sarcasm was not exactly readily apparent.
“Donald Trump made his way through a very competitive primary because he spoke not like your typical politician, but just plainly like and everyday American”.

“And these dishonest media people, the most dishonest people, said ‘did he mean that?'”.
While Trump remains around 40% in national polling, Obama’s approval rating was at 54% after the Democratic convention, according to CNN polling. “But by using the term ‘founder, ‘ they’re hitting you on this again”.
“Do you not like that?” I think we’re going to have a victory.
“You meant that he created the vacuum. That’s what I would say”, Hewitt said. “I think that Hillary Clinton will do that better than Donald Trump”.
On Thursday, Trump had refused to take the opportunity to reframe his remark to mean that Obama had created the context for the Islamic State’s growth. “In fact he gets the – in sports, they have awards”. Conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt told him: “I know what you meant – you meant that he created the vacuum, he lost the peace”.
