Donald Trump defends Vladimir Putin saying there’s no proof ‘he’s killed anyone’
For the Russian president, who once recommended that a journalist get circumcised, Trump’s suggestion that Fox News’s Megyn Kelly was menstruating when she challenged him must have seemed a bon mot, if a little too subtle for the Russian’s taste. Unlike what we have in this country”, – failed to satisfy the MSNBC host, who went on to say, “But again: “He kills journalists that don’t agree with him”. “If he has killed reporters, that’s awful…”
Even by Donald Trump standards, Friday morning was striking. Trump addressed the issue on ABCs “This Week” on Sunday.
“I would never kill them and anybody that does I think would be despicable”, Trump said of reporters at his Monday rally.
“He’s always denied it. It’s never been proven that he’s killed anybody”, the Republican candidate said. “So, you know, you’re supposed to be innocent until proven guilty, at least in our country”. Do you know the names of the reporters that he’s killed? “Yes, sure, there are allegations. He’s making mincemeat out of our president”.
“I really believe that Russian Federation and the United States can be a positive force together as opposed to really working negatively with each other all the time”, he said. Not us bear the full cost, sometimes? He also lambasted the U.S., NATO and other western countries for unnecessary meddling in North Africa and the Middle East. His statements were made in a recently released Russian documentary titled “World Order”.
“He said, ‘Trump is brilliant”.
Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump defended Russian President Vladimir Putin, when prodded by media, and remarked that there was no evidence that he’d killed any journalists. “That’s how you create a better relationship with Putin”.
And former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush – another GOP opponent and constant Trump critic – said during his own spot Sunday on “Face the Nation” that Putin is a “dictator” and a “bully”.
Trump then turned to the allegations that Putin uses killings to intimidate his political opposition, including hostile reporters. “But this isn’t like somebody that’s stood with a gun and he’s taken the blame or he’s admitted that he’s killed”. “I give to everybody”, Trump told a New Hampshire audience in the summer.
