Donald Trump demands apology from Hillary Clinton after ‘disgusting’ debate claim
Hillary Clinton delivered some of her most impassioned comments about racism at the third Democratic presidential debate on Saturday night.
Hillary Clinton communications director Jennifer Palmieri struggled Sunday to defend her boss’ claim that videos of Donald Trump’s anti-Muslim rhetoric were being used as recruitment tools for the Islamic State.
Donald Trump’s “discriminatory” and inflammatory language means he is becoming one of the “best recruiters” for the Isis militant group, Hillary Clinton has said.
Senator Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign has suspended two more staffers amid accusations that it exploited a breach in a voter database to access files from Hillary Clinton’s campaign.
“I very much appreciate that comment, Bernie”, the former secretary of state said.
While the Democrats united against Trump, Sanders clashed at length with Clinton over how to tackle extremism, opposing her call for a no- fly zone over Syria and for focusing on ousting that country’s President Bashar al-Assad.
Mr. Sanders toggled Sunday between contrition and disgust with how the DNC handled the incident, saying the organization leaked some information to the press and the Clinton camp before briefing him on what had gone wrong.
But non-partisan fact-checking group Politifact deemed the claim “false”, and Clinton’s campaign later admitted they didn’t have any evidence of a video from ISIS using clips of Trump disparaging Muslims and walked back from the claim.
Even before the current spat, the DNC had faced criticism from Sanders allies over its decision to schedule another debate on a weekend night – during football season and shortly before Christmas – when the national TV audience was expected to be minimal.
The candidates called on drug companies and doctors to make opioids less accessible to addicts to curb the raging epidemic, and Clinton said she was “proud to get the endorsement” of Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh, who has battled his own addiction to alcohol.
Clinton’s bookended her appearance at the debate in New Hampshire by drawing a “stark contrast” between herself and the Republican Party.
ABC News thoroughly examined footage in and around Jersey City following the September 11th attacks and could not find any video or pictures to support Trump’s claims.
Clinton, whose campaign said Sanders made a number of breaches into Clinton computer files, accepted the apology and said it was time to move on.
“We now finally are where we need to be”.
