Donald Trump ends 2015 with one last jab at Jeb Bush
In a TV interview, Donald Trump said he will be Hillary Clinton’s “worst nightmare” if she is his opponent.
“I don’t believe Hillary Clinton has a service heart”, he said.
The rules governing presidential campaigns are being rewritten in fundamental ways for the 2016 election, and Republican front-runner Donald Trump is generating much of the change.
The president has “this notion of what blue-collared, white voters kind of think that’s so out of touch”, he said. “You can’t let people tell lies!” “Certainly not on Hilton Head”, said Rich Hodsdon as he surveyed the crowd of thousands awaiting the candidate. Moreover, establishment candidates, like Bush, Christie, and Kasich, are the likely first ones to drop out and their supporters are less likely to move toward Trump. “In 99.99 percent of the time they’re trying to keep us safe”.
In a recent Quinnipiac poll, more than half of voters nationally said Trump doesn’t have a good chance of winning, and half of all Americans said they’d be embarrassed to have Trump as their president (35 percent said they’d be embarrassed to have Clinton as their president).
“In a month from now they won’t [agree]”.
Trump then pivoted to Clinton: “By the way, low energy can be applied to Hillary”. People based on their emotions will express support for the sentiment, not necessarily the specifics, because there are none, and then he’ll backtrack.
Trump has selected targets, such as immigrants and China, that make him ever more popular with his core constituencies such as working-class white men and others who are fed up with the status quo and Washington’s political elites, according to the opinion polls.
Finally, he ended his word war with a statement that Democrats and the entire world will definitely remember: “If I don’t win, I will consider this – and I mean this – a total and complete waste of time”.
“I’ll be spending a minimum of $2 million a week, and perhaps substantially more than that”, he told reporters on his campaign plane.
The Republicans who have emerged as Trump’s chief rivals, Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz, had interesting beyond-the-Beltway careers pre-2008 (Rubio in the Florida legislature, Cruz in the Texas attorney general’s office) but emerged as national figures only after Obama’s inauguration. NY billionaire Donald trump exchanged heated arguments with Governor Bush during the second republican presidential debate on CNN.
Jeb Bush said his campaign’s decision to pull large television and radio advertising purchases in SC and Iowa provides an opportunity to put more staffers in early voting states.
“My own forecast at this point is, he is probably going to lose Iowa and has a decent shot of losing in New Hampshire, and thats basically where his campaign falls apart”, he said.
“I’ll just be clear about this”, Bush said, “Donald Trump is not going to get the nomination, and he’s not going to be president”. It would be patriotic, loving the country. If you would like to discuss another topic, look for a relevant article. And I think that’s another part of the Bush brand that I hope people will be reminded of – that it’s a hopeful, optimistic message, not a divisive one.
