Donald Trump escalates attacks on Cruz in Republican fight
“Based on the fraud committed by Senator Ted Cruz during the Iowa Caucus, either a new election should take place or Cruz results nullified”, Donald Trump tweeted.
Both senators hope to extend their momentum in New Hampshire, with Cruz looking to peel away Trump’s supporters on the hard right and Rubio working to consolidate votes from mainstream Republicans and independent voters.
Needless to say, holding the Iowa caucuses for a second time seems rather unlikely, but these latest broadsides should only intensify the increasingly contentious battle between Trump and Cruz. The former secretary of state and first lady defeated Sanders by less than three-tenths of 1 percent, the closest result in Iowa Democratic caucus history, the state party said. Marco Rubio climbs to second place with 18% following his strong third place finish in Iowa, followed by Ted Cruz (13%) and John Kasich (12%) in a near-tie for third. “Also, Cruz sent out a VOTER VIOLATION certificate to thousands of voters”.
“Ted Cruz gave us Obamacare”, said Mr Trump of the health insurance scheme so despised by Republicans, which in fact prompted Mr Cruz and other conservatives to shut down the government in 2013. “Or does that make me an evil, disgusting person?” “In Matthew 7, Jesus Himself says that a tree – and people of faith – are known by their fruit, not just the words they say”.
A University of Massachusetts Lowell tracking poll, conducted daily, found Rubio jumping into New Hampshire’s No. 2 spot in Thursday’s release.
Trump has been leading the Republican polls in New Hampshire, which has historically favored more moderate candidates than Iowa.
“Reality just hit the reality star – he lost Iowa and now nobody is talking about him, so he’s popping off on Twitter”, Mr Cruz’s communications director Rick Tyler told Politico in an email.
Cruz seemed unapologetic in the face of criticism, telling reporters, “I will apologize to nobody for using every tool we can to encourage Iowa voters to come out and vote …”
“If New Hampshire voters fall for his seduction on February 9, they risk destroying their credibility as America’s presidential gatekeepers”.
In addition, he also said that Trump keeps on raising issues that have nothing to do with the citizens of New Hampshire and SC, the next states to vote for their GOP presidential candidate.
