Donald Trump for good relations with China, Russia
The Republican presidential nominee highlighted the importance of improved relations with Putin and Russian Federation by affirming that, since Russian Federation was also in possession of nuclear weapons, it was in the United States’ best interest to stabilize the relationship.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Then why did you soften the GOP platform on Ukraine?
“Do you want to have World War III to get it back?” he asked the crowd at a rally in Columbus, Ohio, arguing it’s not worth confronting Russian Federation to keep them from stomping on other sovereign nations.

“Eight years ago Barack Obama said things about her that were so bad, and today I just said, do me a favor look them up because I remember how bad. But I’m not there, you have Obama there, and frankly that whole part of the world is a mess, under Obama”. Crimea has been under occupation by Moscow-backed forces since Putin sent troops into Ukraine.
The interviewer then pointed out that Putin was already in Ukraine, Trump scrambled: “Ok well he’s there in a certain way” and then he laid the blame for the situation with President Obama’s weakness.
Mr Trump’s son Eric defended his father’s comments about the Khans, telling CBS News that they had been been “blown hugely out of proportion”.
Even the New York Times and Vox think the press is misreading these Trump comments.
Kramer points out it’s not unusual for prominent American politicians to have relationships with powerful businessmen around the world, including in Ukraine and Russian Federation.
