Donald Trump Gives SNL Biggest Ratings Since 2012
During Trump’s monologue, the outspoken mogul was interrupted by an off-screen heckler who turned out to be comedian Larry David – a scripted exchange that poked fun at Trump’s reputation among certain groups for being bigoted. Heres what he had to say when asked if another host would have been a better fit in a recent interview.

According to the trade magazine, it was the highest rating since “SNL’s” January 7, 2012 episode with host Charles Barkley and musical guest Kelly Clarkson. I’ve been in this country for many years, and I’m outraged that they would let him host SNL.
In the SNL cold open Larry David took on the role of Democratic Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.
“People think I’m controversial, but the truth is I’m a really nice guy”, he added”.
Critics complained the show was giving Trump a platform despite what they called his racially hateful rhetoric.
The appearance prompted sizeable protests outside NBC studios in New York, with one political action committee offering a “bounty” of ,000 to any audience member who would heckle the billionaire businessman during the show. While making illegal immigration a main campaign theme, Trump has also said many of his employees are Hispanics and that they love him.
“Who the hell is – oh, I knew this was going to happen”, Trump responded in what was clearly a scripted sketch. Sadly, both of the best sketches were not live this time, but all things considered, I suppose this was somewhat inevitable.
Early on, Trump told the audience he wasn’t in the upcoming sketch, but would live tweet it all the same.
In one skit, which imagines Trump as president, the Mexican president hands him a check to build a wall, and the owner of Spanish TV station Telemundo thanks him for convincing him to switch to English. The off-screen Trump insulted the sketch’s players in typical Trump fashion, as his messages flashed on the screen.
