Donald Trump grew increasingly frustrated as hecklers repeatedly interrupted his Vermont rally
“Donald Trump is scheduled to hold one of his rallies in Burlington, Vermont later tonight – the city where Bernie was mayor, and the city from which we are running our campaign for president”, wrote Jeff Weaver, Mr. Sanders’ campaign manager.
Sanders also issued a more serious statement about Trump’s campaign stop on Wednesday, welcoming the GOP frontrunner to his home state and saying: “I hope his presence here will help him better understand Vermont values-social and economic justice, tolerance, respect for all people and the environment”.
“I know that it’s very common for campaigns to overbook venues, I’ve just never heard of a campaign overbooking a venue by a factor of 15 to 20”, Chief del Pozo said, adding “If this was a Phish concert it would be canceled, unequivocally”. The Flynn Center only holds 1,400, and the campaign questioned ticket holders about their support of Trump; if a person said they didn’t back him, they weren’t allowed in.
A lot of the people standing around in the cold, Trump supporters waiting to get in and opponents holding picket signs, said the rally has kind of a circus feel.
Multiple witnesses told CBS News that they saw people escorted out even if they responded that they were at the event to “learn” more about Trump. “But most of the crowd will be there for the show and the media circus”.
“People are anxious and they are angry”, Sanders recently said in rural Iowa, per BuzzFeed News, referring to stagnant middle-class wages.
“He really hits it. I believe he’ll do what he says he’s going to do”, said Reiss.
“I will get rid of gun-free zones on schools – you have to – and on military bases on my first day”. Doney said he still planned to vote for Trump.
He then made fun of Vermont’s own Sen. In a moment that may very well forever redefine the Trump approach to energizing a crowd, Trump suddenly asked the crowd, “Who’s gonna pay for the wall?” Get em out, Trump said after the second interruption. Vows to construct a wall on the Mexico border played especially well with this fiery crowd. Bernie Sanders have their way, it might be a lonely evening for the Republican presidential candidate, who has maintained an uncontested lead in Republican primary national polls for months.
“How about when the two young women took over his microphone, and he retreated… that wont’ happen with me, I promise”, Trump said.
Almost 3,000 people attended and protested Donald Trump’s rally in Burlington, Vermont last night, according to the Burlington Free Press. “My first day, it gets signed, okay?”
“I am definitely not a supporter of Hillary Clinton in any way whatsoever, but there is no way if I was in one of her sessions, no way I would act like that”, said Reiss.
Trump asked the crowd, “Friend or foe?”
“We are going to make America great again”. It’s about 10 degrees below zero outside…
