Donald Trump heckled by Larry David on ‘SNL’
Donald Trump followed his SNL appearance with a CNN interview on Sunday’s State of the Union.
So was Larry David really joking on this weekend’s “Saturday Night Live” when he proclaimed that Donald Trump’s “a racist” during the opening monologue?
Then there was that time that a billionaire real estate tycoon-turned reality television magnate-turned presidential candidate broke recent network records with his hosting stint on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live”, thus ensuring that high ratings would boost him in his bid to buy his way into the White House. Those numbers were enough to give SNL its highest ratings since a Charles Barkley episode in January of 2012, which means the show could probably even top last night if Barkley started running for president. It was easily the best-rated episode in the current 41st season, 47% higher than the Miley Cyrus-hosted episode a few months ago – which featured Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton, funnily enough.
On the other hand, Trump is also very confident that he’ll be able to bring up SNL’s ratings with his appearance.
What do U think about this news??
“I feel like they’re giving him a platform”, said Hazel Hernandez, 26, who emigrated from El Salvador and now lives in Brooklyn. During a sketch depicting Trump’s cabinet two years into his term, Trump told his team “I don’t have to get specific” about policy.
The show, which came under fire from Latino groups for inviting the blunt Republican presidential frontrunner to host, garnered a 6.6 rating in the 56 USA markets measured by Nielsen Media Research, NBC said in a statement. Donald Trump hosted SNL to huge ratings.
Saturday Night Live has become notorious for its comedic political commentary.
“Larry David just became $5,000 richer”, Montgomery said.
Many who watched the show stated the funniest moment of the night was when comedian Larry David heckled Donald Trump by shouting “You’re a racist” during the live SNL taping. The scripted bit played off of a claim by Los Angeles-based group Deport Racism to pay $5,000 to anyone “clearly heard saying “Deport Racism” or “Trump is a Racist” on Saturday’s broadcast.
While Trump was hosting, several protesters were outside the Rockefeller Center.
