While he is blunt, she is noticeably careful in choosing her words. He sought to paint his father as an executive who gets down in the trenches and is not a hands-off manager locked away in an office.

Ivanka Trump, the crown jewel of her dad’s campaign, made an impassioned case Thursday night for women to defy the polls and support him over Hillary Clinton. She has repeatedly praised her father’s promotion of women in the construction industry, adding that his criticism is never “gender specific”.

“I understand that could be relatable because she is a woman”, Hartwell said, “That doesn’t mean her views personally affect each and every other woman to side with Donald Trump”. As it stands, she is living, poised proof that Donald Trump got something right.

That’s not to say she doesn’t want the bright lights. Expect Ivanka to do her utmost.

And while all of his grown children have had a visible presence on the campaign trail, all seem to agree that none is closer than Ivanka, 34, and husband Jared Kushner, who is now involved with almost all facets of the campaign. “I’ve said that if Ivanka wasn’t my daughter”, said the man now running for president, “perhaps I’d be dating her”.

This wasn’t Melania Trump’s fault and I don’t think anyone (short of the Democrats) would’ve laid the blame for plagiarism at her feet.

His 34-year-old daughter regaled the crowd with childhood stories about Legos and his favorite adages, rounding out the image of the sometimes hard-edged politician that’s emerged over the campaign. To my generation, this is the most important election of our lifetime, one that will determine the future of our country and, in turn, the future of the world.

“She probably keeps her thoughts to herself a little more than her dad does”, Lurrs said. Sure we have. You know what I call those? “This is such a personal experience for her, and she shared it in such a graceful and articulate way, so I am enormously impressed with her ability to do that and have great respect for it”.

Another woman at the town hall, Isabel Reid, isn’t sure she will vote for Trump, but she does appreciate that Ivanka is one of his close advisers. She loves introducing him to her friends who have “preconceived notions” about him, because “in person my father is so friendly, so considerate, so amusing, and so real”.

This goodwill for Ivanka may prove to be a powerful political weapon for her father. “In person, my father is so friendly, so considerate, so amusing and so real”, said Tiffney, reflecting the fatherly and humane character of 70-year-old Trump.
